Also, if you want to register on race day and are under 18, you must have a parent/legal guardian’s signature on the race form.

Course Route:
We are a USATF certified 5K course that runs through the adjacent neighborhoods.  Race course is blocked to all car traffic on Race Day for the safety of our participants.
Check out the course map.

There is significant construction going on at St Mary Magdalene.  Please be careful.  We will be slightly modifying the start and finish line this year to avoid the construction.  We'll be providing details race morning.

Please be aware of the speed bumps in the StMM parking lot as you begin the race!   There will be course marshals with signs to let you know where these are.  Be careful as you  cross them at the start and end of the course.

Competitive Participants:
Disposable timing chips will be on the back of your bibs when you pick them up.

Race Day Parking:
It is recommended that you arrive at the race site around 7 a.m. as Town Side Drive will be closing at 7:30 a.m.

As always, carpooling is encouraged as it saves fuel and frees up spots!

Due to Church construction, there will be limited parking in the upper lot this year as we need to alter the start and stop.  Parking is available on all of the side streets near St Mary Magdalene in Scotts Mill.  Please note, there is NO parking on any of the streets that are part of the course.

5K Race Start - 8 a.m. Sharp!
The race start and finish are located at St. Mary Magdalene Church – 625 Magdala Place, Apex.

Competitive runners with a sub 6, 6-minute, 7-minute and 8-minute mile pace, respectively, will be at the head of the pack, followed by the other competitive runners – those with timing chips.

We ask that recreational entrants, 1.5 mile fitness walkers and especially those with strollers position themselves at the back of the pack.

Race Course Safety:
Police officers will be blocking most intersections, but please be sure to watch out for any vehicles you may encounter. Volunteers, who will be wearing yellow shirts , and directional arrows placed in orange cones will be located throughout the course to help guide you during the race. Also, there is a water station on the course that you will pass twice.

Medical Staff:
If you have a medical need, please see a volunteer (YELLOW shirt), staff member (GRAY shirt)  or a member of Apex Fire or Police to direct you to the Apex EMS that will be located on site in the STMM Lot.

There are no refunds for this event.  If, for reasons out of our control (i.e. severe lightning), we are unable to hold the event on the scheduled day, the race will be cancelled and not rescheduled.

If we do see lightning, we will use the standard 20 minute rule to see if it passes and commence the race from there.

Should we require the race to be cancelled, we will make all t-shirts available to those that registered before the deadline of April 24th.
Rain or shine, we will make every effort to run the race as long as it is safe to do!

Lastly, the race staff would like to acknowledge and thank the Scotts Mill, Magnolia and The Green neighborhoods.  We are using their streets and asking them to put their lives on hold for an hour.  Please be considerate of their property and if you see a resident, please give them hearty thanks as you pass!
